Find Holt County Released Inmates

Holt County released inmates may leave local custody for the community, state prison, another county, federal custody, or an immigration hold. Those outcomes call for different records. To search for Holt County released inmates, first identify the agency that held the person, then compare the jail entry with the court case and any receiving-agency record. Holt County released inmates do not have a public county release feed or online jail roster. Reliable confirmation instead comes from the Sheriff's records, Missouri corrections search, court docket, and post-release supervision office.

Understanding Holt County Inmate Releases

A Holt County Jail booking ends in more than one way. Bond, recognizance, a court order, dismissal, or completion of a local sentence may return a person to the community. A transfer, extradition, state commitment, federal writ, or immigration detainer ends the Holt booking while another agency keeps custody. That distinction is the heart of release verification. Asking only whether someone “left the jail” can produce an answer that is true but incomplete.

The Holt County Sheriff's Department operates the county jail and holds its booking and release or transfer entry. The related court case gives the legal reason for the event. Missouri corrections records apply only when a court commits a person to MODOC or supervision begins. Each source answers a different part of the same question.

Time served
The local jail term has been completed.
Probation
A court orders community supervision, sometimes without a prison stay.
Parole
The Parole Board permits part of a prison sentence to be served under supervision.
Discharge
MODOC custody and supervision have ended.
Detainer
Another agency asks to take or keep custody after the current booking ends.

Holt County Release Types

The release label determines the next useful record. A person who posts bond may be out of custody while the criminal case continues. A probation order also places a person in the community, but probation is not parole. Conditional release is a Missouri prison term partly served under Division of Probation and Parole supervision. A transfer is not community release at all.

Fields in Holt County Release Records

Holt County does not publish a field dictionary or a public booking portal. A request should therefore ask for the existing jail-management release entry, or the closest record the custodian maintains, without asserting that every possible field must exist. A full name, booking number, approximate date, and court case number help distinguish the right custody episode.

Requested fieldWhat it can show
Booking date and timeWhen the Holt County custody episode began
Booking numberThe local key tying records to one arrest
Charges and arresting agencyWhy and by whom the person was booked
Bond amount or statusWhether a pretrial release path was recorded
Release date and timeWhen that Holt booking actually ended
Release authority or typeBond, order, sentence completion, or another basis
Receiving agencyWhether departure was a transfer rather than community release

The release entry is distinct from a court judgment. The jail records the physical end of its custody. The Circuit Court records bond, dismissal, sentence, probation, commitment, and later case action. If the person entered state custody, the MODOC record begins a new part of the timeline.

Request Holt County Release Records

No dedicated online request form, named custodian, or local fee sheet appears on the official sheriff page. A narrow written Missouri Sunshine request should go to the Holt County Sheriff's Department, Attn: Custodian of Records, 107 South Main Street or P.O. Box 229, Oregon, MO 64473. The department lists 660-822-3001 and 660-822-3002, fax 660-822-3005, and Sheriff Tiger Parsons at tparsons@holtso.org.

  1. Identify the person with full name, aliases, birth date if known, booking date range, and case number.
  2. Ask for the existing booking and release or transfer entry, including release date, authority, and receiving agency.
  3. Request the booking photograph as a separate item if it is needed.
  4. Prefer electronic copies and ask for an estimate before costs exceed a stated limit.
  5. If material is withheld, ask for the open portion and the statute supporting each closure.

A custodian need not answer new questions or create a custom report. An exact date range lowers search time. Under RSMo §610.023, access should be provided as soon as possible and no later than the end of the third business day, or the custodian must explain the delay and give the earliest availability date. That is a response framework, not a promise that a large request will be finished in three days.

Missouri Law on Holt Release Records

Chapter 610 starts with public access but permits specific closures. Section 610.021 lists grounds on which records may be closed. Section 610.023 governs requests, timely access or explanation, and separation of open material from closed material. Under RSMo §610.026, ordinary paper copies no larger than 9 by 14 inches may cost up to ten cents per page, plus allowable labor and actual research time. Electronic or image records may carry actual copy and qualifying staff costs. An estimate and advance payment may be required.

Arrest-record access and closure are more specific under §610.100. Expungement under §610.140 is petition based, not automatic. General waiting periods are measured after completion of the disposition, with three years for a felony and one year for a misdemeanor, ordinance violation, or infraction, subject to exclusions and other conditions. Juvenile matters and protected information can also remain outside public access. A record missing from an online search is not proof that no custody episode occurred.

Search Holt County Released Inmates

Start with the custody system, not a broad name search. Holt County has no official live roster or recent-release archive. The direct path for a local booking is the jail line, the court docket, and the actual release or transfer entry. A state, federal, or immigration record is useful only if that agency took custody.

  1. Call the Holt County Jail at its official 24-hour numbers and ask whether the specific booking remains active.
  2. If it ended, ask whether the person entered the community or went to another agency.
  3. Search Missouri Case.net for the Holt County criminal case and newest docket events.
  4. If the court shows a state commitment, search the Missouri Department of Corrections by DOC ID or name.
  5. For parole, conditional release, or probation, confirm public supervision facts with District 1.
  6. Use VINELink for a participating local-custody notice, then confirm the event with the Sheriff.
  7. Request the existing release or transfer record when written proof is required.
Roster absence is not release proof. A transfer, court trip, extradition, data delay, or hold can remove a person from one list while custody continues.

Holt Release Orders and Door Time

Holt County cases are part of Missouri's Fourth Judicial Circuit. Case.net provides the lasting trail for filing, bond, warrant, dismissal, plea, judgment, sentence, probation, revocation, and later entries. It does not record the exact moment the jail completed release processing. A court order may exist while a second warrant or agency detainer still prevents a return to the community.

Reconcile three clocks. First is the judge's legal order. Second is the Holt County Jail release or transfer timestamp. Third is the intake record of any receiving agency. The Holt County Circuit Court Clerk can supply a certified order or docket record when the public screen is incomplete. The Sheriff, not the clerk, holds the local door-exit entry. This Fourth Judicial Circuit and jail-record split is essential when two official sources appear to disagree.

Note: A bond release can end confinement while the criminal case remains open for months and later gains new docket activity.

Holt County Recent Release Records

The official county page publishes no inmate roster, released tab, 24-hour list, 72-hour list, archive, booking photographs, update cadence, or online retention period. No sheriff mobile app is documented. A commercial list should not be substituted for an official source. For a same-day check, call the jail, ask whether the named booking ended, and ask whether the outcome was community release or transfer.

For a weekend or three-day interval, give the custodian exact start and end times and ask whether an existing release or transfer log covers that span. Chapter 610 does not require creation of a new compilation. A person-specific request is often more precise. It also avoids treating unrelated bookings as part of a search for one person.

Does a missing Holt listing prove release? No. Holt County does not offer an official online roster to begin with, and an absence can reflect transfer, delay, spelling, or lack of publication. Use the jail entry and court case.

City Arrests and Holt Release Checks

The official Sheriff page states that county dispatch handles all police, fire, and emergency medical services, and it lists Oregon and Mound City police. No separate municipal detention facility or municipal release feed was found. For an extremely recent city arrest, the central county line is the practical first call. Give the name, arresting department, and approximate time.

The person may not yet have been booked into Holt County Jail. A summons or court order may also have ended the police contact without a county booking. Follow the associated municipal or Case.net record for a lasting legal trail. Dispatch can help identify where the person went, but a written jail entry or court record is stronger when the exact outcome must be documented.

Holt County Post-Release Supervision

Holt County belongs to Missouri Department of Corrections Probation and Parole District 1, which serves seven northwest Missouri counties. The St. Joseph Community Supervision Center is listed at 3305 Faraon Street, St. Joseph, MO 64506, phone 816-271-3131. District offices generally operate 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday except state holidays.

Public client information can include confirmation of supervision, supervision type and term, present offense, sentence, county, supervising officer and office, custody or bond status, parole or conditional-release date, and board decision. Detailed reports remain privileged. Probation can follow a court order without a state prison stay. Parole and conditional release follow state prison confinement. An absconder or violation warrant signals a possible enforcement issue, not a new kind of release.

Holt Release Notifications After 2026

Missouri changed notification channels on May 5, 2026. Local-jail custody and court-event registration remain through VINELink. MODOC custody notification now requires direct registration with the MODOC Office of Victim Services. Current delivery uses SMS text or email. Voice calls and VINELink app delivery ended, so older four-digit PIN instructions describe a former process.

Holt County participation and fields are not guaranteed by the county page. Search VINELink by state, person, and agency, then compare age or birth details and other identifiers. If a local result is present, register through the controls shown. Treat any notice as a prompt to call the Sheriff and check the case. A transfer alert does not mean community release.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol registry is separate. It covers people with a registration duty and does not prove the end date or reason for a Holt County jail stay. Many released people do not appear there.

Holt Releases Across Custody Systems

A search works only when it matches the custodian. A local jail call does not establish a later state prison release. A MODOC result does not answer a federal custody question. A federal date does not prove that no state or immigration custody followed.

Holt County Jail

Use the jail release or transfer entry with Case.net. There is no public online roster or release feed.

MODOC prison

Use the offender search, public client data, and District 1. This is not a county booking archive.

Federal BOP

Use the BOP locator release status and date. It does not cover ordinary Holt custody.

Federal pretrial

Use the federal docket and responsible USMS channel. No public USMS person locator exists.

ICE

Use the Sheriff's receiving-agency record and ICE ODLS. A no-result remains inconclusive.

No official source identifies Holt County Jail as an ICE contract site. An individual detainer may still lead to transfer. In that case, describe the event as release from Holt County custody to ICE, not release to the community. For an actual federal prison term, the BOP locator may display “Released” or “Not in BOP custody” and a date, but later supervision or another custody system may still apply.

Holt County Release Facility

Holt County Jail is the only locally documented detention facility in the county map. It holds local arrests, pretrial detainees, local sentences, warrants, and people awaiting authorized transfer. The jail is not a state prison. A community release must be separated from movement to another county, extradition, MODOC commitment, a federal agency, or ICE.

No operating state prison, federal prison, ICE detention center, regional jail, or separately documented municipal lockup was found within Holt County. State prisons can serve Holt cases after commitment, but they should not be treated as local facilities. The receiving-agency field is the cleanest bridge from the Holt County release record to the next custody search.
